The MIU Foundation was established by the MIU Board of Trustees in April 1997. MIU Foundation is registered with the state of Iowa as a tax-exempt public charity. The Foundation has been classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a Type I Supporting Organization of MIU. The Foundation’s tax identification number is 39-1896290.

MIU Foundation was established to provide an organization through which MIU, and private donors can support Consciousness-Based programs worldwide. Its goal is to provide funding for Consciousness-Based
education programs especially in Latin America and Asia, which has led to large numbers of students learning the Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi programs including Yogic Flying, to create coherence in collective consciousness and create waves of peace and harmony is world consciousness. 

Over the past twenty-seven years, the Foundation has granted funds to support CBE projects in Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, The Netherlands, India, Nepal, Thailand, S. Korea, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Palestine, Israel, Kenya, Cameroon, Mozambique, Mali, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the United States.
